Anddd were here

After climbing the surrounding mountains in my car, I finally made it to base camp. Originally, my plan was to get here, hike a little bit, and then camp along the trail. But once I got there I barely even wanted to leave the car. I arrived at 10:30pm and it was completely pitch black. Luckily, I wasn’t the only one deciding to summit this mountain on the 4th so I was able to be surrounded by a herd of people and tents at the trailhead. I was able to find a little gap in between some trees a couple hundred feet from everyone else and set up tent.

Once I got my tent setup, I wasted no time getting in there and trying to fall asleep as fast as possible. While I was ecstatic just thinking about the day I had planned, being solo out there was not easy at all. After a couple toss and turns, YouTube videos, and an attempt to play a downloaded podcast, I finally found myself knocked out.
